Two questions for the experts please,

First questions; I am using SkyStar 2 DVB card with a 90cm dish and I would like to know what is the best possible signal to receive from EutelSat satellite in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Presently I getting a 25% strength and 60% for quality and I would like to know if I can improve on that?

Second questions; Why do I get a 40% signal strength with 90% quality when a connect my DVBy card to the dish using a one meter cable on the roof but when I connect in my room using a 30 meter cable the signal weakens to 25% strength and 60% for quality.

Hey man

First of all, I'm just wondering... if your English isn't perfect, then you are not a native English speaker. In such case, why would you use English in an Arabic forum? If you can speak Arabic, please use it.

Regarding your first question, I'm sorry I don't use the satellite you are asking about. The only way I can help is this: there's a program that can calculate many things for installation purposes. If I remember correctly, it calculates the needed dish diameter too. I guess it'll become handy in your case. Here's the link to read more and a direct link to download

Regarding the second question, your most likely answer is interference. To enhance the situation, try to keep your connections away from electricity extensions, cables and outlets as far as possible . Also, a better quality cable with better insulation COULD (though most likely not by much, unless you are using a really bad quality cable) help improve the situation. Finally, keep in mind that the longer the cable, the weaker the signal you'll get, so don't use a 30m cable when you actually need only 20m. cut the extra meters that you don't actually need

1-معرفة أعلى قوة وجودة إشارة ممكنة عند استقبال يوتلسات eutelsat في الدمام، أو إذا كانت هناك طرق لتحسين قوة وجودة الاشارة.
2-معرفة لماذا سلك 1 متر من الطبق لكرت الساتلايت يعطي قوة إشارة 40% وجودة إشارة 90%، بينما سلك 30متر يعطي قوة إشارة 25% وجودة إشارة 60%. وهل هناك طرق لتحسين الوضع؟

First of all thanks for the reply and translation and secondly I am using English because my Arabic keyboard is broken and I am left out with an ALL ENGLISH keyboard (too lazy to go out and buy one)
