The cards exchange of Cyfrowy Polsat will last significantly longer then it was initially expected. It is expecting, that this process will take a whole year. It looks like Cyfrowy Polsat platform will be available for pirate reception for very long time thanks to the instable Nagravision 1 encryption.
It is unofficially known, that technical problems occur with the new cards implementation into the older types of Cyfrowy Polsat decoders. It was initially expected, that Nagravision Aladin will be the only encryption used by Cyfrowy Polsat since the beginning of 2005 year.
The problem is, that if the cards exchange will lasts a very long time, there might be a problem with stability of Nagravision Aladin itself. Also Premiere is using this system, therefore there is large number of hackers interested to breake it.
Unofficial news from Hacker`s world say, that Aladin has been thrashed already a long time ago, but Premiere keys won't become public as yet. Similar situation is with Sky Digital or Sky Italia in NDS-VideoGuard. Murdoch and German Premiere don't like to play with hackers, therefore they are simply frightened to public Aladin and NDS way of encryptions!
Currently Cyfrowy Polsat is being encrypted in simulcrypt: Nagravision 1 and Nagravision Aladin. Since some time, new customers, who buys Polsat`s Echostar receivers are getting a new cards. Theoretically, Cyfrowy Polsat should exchange the part of its old terminals for new Echostar DSB-606 and quickly exchange encryption and close it for pirate reception. However it is impossible in practice because of financial, technical and logistic problems. If it was possible, Cyfrowy Polsat would gather within this year, the large number of pirate viewers which are use to watching this package for free.
There is also another suggestion for Cyfrowy Polsat to gave Aladin up and choice completly new system, such encryption without cards, which would be design for Cyfrowy Polast by hackers itself. The new encryption system might be design by this hackers, who doesn`t have any problem to break Seca 2 or Nagravision.
